- Workshop: A Taste of Mexico with Chef Taji Marie. 10 a.m., Gold Room, Derby Dining Center. Chef Taji Marie conducts the annual Culinary Enhancement Workshop at Kansas State University. - Mid-America Medieval Association Conference: Encountering the Other. 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., K-State Student Union. Kansas State will host the Mid-America Medieval Association's 36th annual conference. Presenters from the region, the nation, and abroad will deliver papers on the conference theme. This interdisciplinary conference will feature work from historians, art historians, religious studies scholars, and literary scholars of English, French, Spanish, and Latin.

- Performance: The Reckoning, iO Chicago's Improvisational Comedy Group. 8 to 10 p.m., Ballroom, K-State Student Union. The Reckoning is the house troupe at the famous iO theatre in Chicago. They will be performing long form improvisational comedy based on an audience suggestion. The performance will also feature K-State's own On the Spot Improv Troupe. Free and open to the public. This international lecture series was begun in 1979 by Dr. Vernon C. Larson, then Director of International Agricultural Programs, and is the longest-running at K-State. With six presentations per year, held during the fall and spring semesters, the series offers an opportunity for the K-State community to hear presentations from faculty and individuals who have recently participated in an extensive overseas activity or who are involved in major international activities. The luncheon is open to everyone. Reservations for the luncheons can be made by e-mail (oip@ksu.edu) or by phone (532-5990) and should be made by noon of the Friday before each luncheon. You may also attend the lecture portion of this event, which begins at 12:15 p.m. at no cost.
